Producer Stage Door Wine Co

Stage Door Wine Co has been the result of a long work in progress. Having been a passionate and relatively successful professional musician for 15 years during the 80’s and 90’s, there came a time that I needed to reassess my future.

I developed vocal nodules in the early 90’s, as a result of a heavy music schedule singing 6 nights a week, and was forced to re-evaluate where I was headed. It was a particularly difficult time for me as music had been my life and one true passion. What was I to do and more importantly what other profession did I have an interest and passion for? The decision was staring straight at me! Having spent so much time working in hotels and night clubs the opportunity to remain in this environment was an obvious choice for me. The Liquor industry!

In 1992 I began working for Lion Nathan and the Toohey’s Brewing Company as a sales representative, before moving to SA Brewing Company as a Sales Manager in 1993. Here I spent the next 5 years of my working life, learning many skills in the areas of sales and marketing. In 1998 I had an opportunity to enter the world of wine, taking up the position of National Sales Manager for Andrew Garrett Vineyard Estate, before moving to Tucker Seabrook as State Sales Manager SA around 2000, where I was exposed to so many fabulous domestic and international wine brands. Following on from Tuckers I have also spent time in roles with Barossa Valley Estate and more recently a five year period as General Manager of Chain of Ponds Wines in the Adelaide Hills.

I am currently employed as General Manager of Eden Hall Wines in the Eden Valley, which is a business that I have a particularly keen interest in, as it is owned by my brother in law and sister, David and Mardi Hall.
My goal for the last decade has been to start my own wine brand and label. This as we all know is not an easy step and a very capital intensive exercise.

I am very fortunate that David and Mardi offered to assist me in turning my dream into a reality. They have given me the opportunity to source premium fruit from their property for my label. The wines that are presented are the result of a lot of hard work in the vineyard and the winery. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have had producing them.

Cheers,

Graeme
