Garden & Field Vermentino 2015

Vermentino originates from Italy and is one of the most popular dry white wines consumed. Garden & Field has produced Eden Valley's first Vermentino vineyard, planted in 2009, non-irrigated, hand planted on own roots at an elevation of 380m. The soils are a very complex matrix of heavy red clay, decomposed shattered silt stone layered with very fine calcium, interspersed with iron stone, quartz and crystalline particles.

The 2015 vintage is the first release producing just over 350 cases. The bouquet displays notes of citrus blossom, white stone fruits, lemon grass and various spices.

The palate is fresh and clean, flavors of lemon, grapefruit and minerals delivering a dry and very balanced light palate.

Garden & Field

Garden & Field is nestled among the rolling hills of Eden Valley with only a selected few vineyards to be found close by. Just over one kilometer away is the most iconic vineyard in Australia - Henschke's Hill Of Grace. The Barossa's Eden Valley area is steeped in history and many descendants are 5 generation custodians but for the 'Raymond' family it is where the dream unfolded, 1st generation.
